I usually try to stay out of political stuff, but the issue of patenting life really gets me riled! If you haven't seen the documentaries Food, Inc. and The Future of Food, you really need to. I had no idea just how bad things had gotten. I am outraged that the U.S. government has allowed Monsanto to corrupt our food supply in the way it has, and the devastation that Monsanto is wreaking on farmers who wish to save seed from heirloom stock.
Now Monsanto has introduced a new "product": Roundup Ready Alfalfa. This stands to not only destroy the foundation of organic foods in general, but of yet another important crop for food production (not necessarily organic). Please take a moment to make your voice heard.
